All you need to know about exercise at home
Sometimes, exercising in a gym can be outright intimidating. We are not to be blamed because there is a Catch 22 situation here. The reason you go to the gym is to get fit and healthy, which is often interpreted as having a muscular or a sexy body. But more often than not, we are afraid that we are being judged by other people. I understand how this situation feels like. There was a time when I went to the gym for my exercise and guess what, the person exercising beside me was a very well built man. I felt really embarrassed because I looked so "small" standing beside this guy. However, this situation does not have to be the same for you. Instead of exercising in a gym, you can choose to exercise at home instead.
If you want to exercise at home, you have to make a really big commitment. This is certainly understandable. Count all the distractions you have at home. From the television set to your children. If you do not have the right focus, discipline and mindset, you will not be able to exercise at home. How big is the commitment? I would say take at least one hour away, 3 nights a week for you to exercise.
Now, the next thing you need to do is to figure out a place for you to exercise at home and what types of exercises can you do at home. The answer to the first question is anywhere as long as you feel comfortable with the place. You can do sit ups, push ups and weight lifting in your bedroom. If you are a big fan of yoga, you can also do that at home. The thing is you do not need a gym to keep yourself fit and healthy.
Last but not least, you must enjoy your workout at home. If you do not like your exercise at home, sooner or later, it is going to turn into a burden and if that happens, exercise at home will be no different from going to gym to exercise. I certainly understand that you want to escape "public" scrutiny, which explains why you want to exercise at home in the first place. However, you must have the determination to stick to the plan. A quick tip to overcome boredom. Try mixing up your workout. Maybe something like yoga on Monday, push ups on Tuesday and so on and so forth. Follow these exercise tips and you are very well on your way to develop your own exercise at home program.
